When I was at Meijer trying to find Sinful Colors Sugar Rush (sigh..), I saw a huge display of new limited edition Maybelline products. I had read about this collection on Nouveau Cheap. I already knew I wanted to pick up Golden Fuse because it was a possible Nars Orgasm dupe. I also wanted to get a closer look at 2 of the quads and see if they were colors that would work for me.
Electric Emerald #800
Natural Shock #700
Golden Fuse #215 (taken with 1 daylight lamp on)
Golden Fuse #215 (taken with both daylight lamps on)
As you can see, Golden Fuse is not a dupe for Nars Orgasm. From the swatches I have viewed of Nars Orgasm, it looks more pink than peach. Golden Fuse is straight-up peach with golden shimmer and glitter. While I’m kind of bummed that it’s not a dupe, I’m glad that I still bought it because I read that ladies with Rosacea should use peach and apricot colored blush (instead of pink) to reduce the appearance of pink/flushed/red cheeks. As an added bonus, the golden shimmer and micro glitter in blush means I can skip a highlighter. So this works for me!
The 2 quads I purchased are even more gorgeous in person. Natural Shock quad kind of reminds me of the Naked palettes. I am kind of wondering if there are dupes in there. If I find that there is, I’ll put an edit at the bottom of this post at a later time. Even if there is, it’s still a great buy. The quad is way more purse friendly than one of the Naked palettes. While the darkest color in Electric Emerald photographed black, it’s actually a blackened olive color. If you have hazel eyes, this quad will make them pop! I’m so glad I purchased these quad because the quality is great for drugstore eye shadows and the price wasn’t that bad.
Are you planning on picking up anything from this LE collection?
